"I feel it is going to be very interesting and will be a defining moment for Indo-American relations," External Affairs Minister S M Krishna told reporters on the sidelines of a function here. He said Singh"s first visit to Washington since the Obama Administration took over in January would help in further integrating the bilateral ties.
The Prime Minister will undertake a five-day trip to the US from Sunday, becoming the first foreign leader on a State visit during the Obama Administration.
During their meeting on November 24, Singh and Obama would hold extensive talks and chalk out the road ahead in the relationship that has undergone a major transformation in the last few years. The major issues for discussion would be cooperation in counter terrorism, regional security, civil nuclear cooperation, defence cooperation, climate change and food security.
Diplomatic sources underlined that the visit in itself was significant in terms of message and symbolism, considering that Singh would be the first foreign leader to be received as State guest during the 10-month Obama administration.
The two sides are working to firm up some pacts but the sources sought to play down the expectations.
