Auto major Mahindra & Mahindra today reported 18.72 per cent growth in its total automotive sales in June at 22,999 units compared with 19,371 units in the corresponding month last year.

HCL Infosystems net up 1.5%
Hardware and systems integrator company HCL Infosystems posted a 1.5 per cent increase in net profit for the second quarter ended December 31, 2009. Net profit stood at Rs 56.09 crore compared with Rs 55.25 crore in the year-ago period.

Sun Pharmaceuticals has succeeded in invalidating a key patent of Eli Lilly"s block buster cancer medicine Gemzar (gemcitabine injection) in the US market. The company will now be able to launch a low cost version of the medicine in the world"s largest drug market in November 2010.

When reporters asked former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad for a reaction on why his successor Mamata Banerjee was trying to mock his work by bringing out her White Paper, he asked, “Do you know any tantric? I need to consult one.” As the reporters wondered why the RJD chief needed a tantric, Prasad added, “I think there is something wrong with the time of my birth.
