Hebrews 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; KJV
The word destroy above means, to render idle. Satan has been rendered idle. In other words, he can't do anything to you except deceive you into thinking he can.
1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. KJV
Note the word destroy again in this verse. It means, set loose, or free from being bound. Praise God, that's good news. The enemy wants you to think he has power to whip you, well that's not what the Word says.
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. KJV
See the word resist, it means to stand up against. If your going to enforce the victory Jesus has provided you, you have to be aggressive. In other words, you have to get militant with your faith.
The Word has the final say not our feelings. We are not feeling bound, at least we should not be. We are Word bound. The Bible settles the issue. The Devil hates it when you think and say the Word. The fact is, that's all he really wants is the Word. If he can get the Word out of your heart, your toast.
Here is another scripture,
James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. KJV
Here again the Word says to resist. Strong's puts it like this, to set yourself against. You and I must do what Jesus did, say, "it is written Satan you can't do that do me". Well if it worked for Jesus, it will work for you.
Acts 16:18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.
See what Paul did with the authority that God has given us. That Girl tormented them everyday until Paul had enough. He then used the authority that God has given every believer. That girl was set free and as you read on the whole city was changed.
